How do I submit a review? |

- First find the hotel/attraction/restaurant or location you would like to review by entering its name into the "Search" field located at the very top of the homepage.
- From the search results, click the link to this property under the "Location Results" heading.
- Toward the top of this page, just below the property's name, you will find a link to "Add your review."
- Fill in the "Write a review" form.
- If you have photos you would like to add, click "Browse" to find and upload up to 10 photos. Be sure that they are under 5MB each and in GIF or JPG formats.
- Click on the "Preview Your Review" button at the bottom of the page.
- A page showing a preview of your review as it will be published should appear. Once you've confirmed that everything is correct, click on the "Submit review" button at the bottom of the page.
- You will be asked to register with TripAdvisor in order to submit your review. This is required to ensure the quality and credibility of the reviews posted to our site.

Can I submit a review for a hotel, restaurant, attraction or location not listed on your site? |
|
Yes! If you do a search for the hotel, restaurant, attraction or location you visited, but can't find it on our site, you can still write a review! Just go to the homepage, and click on the "Write a Review" link under the "Quick Links" section.
Select what you'd like to review (hotel, attraction, restaurant or location), then enter the name and click "search." If this is a new listing that does not yet appear on TripAdvisor, click "Option 2: This is a new listing. Tell us more about this hotel, and write your review."
Be sure to include hotel/attraction/restaurant/location name, address, official website and any other contact information you have in the fields provided so that we can match it to something in our database, or add a new listing to the site.

What CAN'T I review? |
|
We don't currently post reviews for private vacation rentals, some tour companies, travel agencies or online booking sites, among others. While you may love your neighborhood mechanic, we won't post reviews for anything that's not of interest to most tourists.
We also don't list cruises or airlines currently, although we may in the future. If you submit a review for one of these, we'll hold on to it for you.

When will my review be posted? |
|
It usually takes a day or so to post reviews. After you submit your review, you will see the title of it in your profile, and it will be marked with a "pending" icon. When your review is posted to the site, it will become linked in your profile, and we will send you a confirmation by e-mail. If we can't post your review, we'll notify you with the reason why.

How can I edit my review? |
|
We're sorry, but reviewers cannot edit reviews. If you'd like us to remove your published review so that you can write another, just e-mail our support team.

The review I wrote is attached to the wrong hotel! How can I fix this? |
|
E-mail our support team, and let us know which hotel the review is attached to, the title and date of the review and which hotel the review should be attached to. We'll be happy to correct it for you.

If I return to a hotel for the second time, can I write another review for it? |
|
We only publish one review per property from each reviewer. We do this to prevent reviewers from submitting multiple reviews about the same property, thereby skewing our ratings. However, we do appreciate updated reviews! If you would like to update your review about a property, please contact us and request that your old review be removed. Please include the subject of your review. Once we remove it, we will let you know that it is safe to submit an updated review.

How long do reviews stay posted? |

Removal from the site does not depend on age.

Why can't I talk about other reviewers? What if I disagree with them? |
|
If you disagree with a review, simply submit a review of your own experience. It's fine to disagree in a friendly manner without insults, or other disparaging comments, for example, "I disagree with the previous reviewer because we had a fantastic time!" Can I submit just photos (without a review)? |
|
Yes! We hope you'll send in your candid travel photos as they are one of the most popular features of the site! Simply navigate to the hotel/attraction/restaurant or location for which you'd like to submit photos, and click on the green "Add photos" button.

How can I add photos to a review I already submitted? |
|
Once your review is posted, you will receive a confirmation e-mail. In this e-mail, you will find a link to your published review, as well as a link to add photos to your review. Use the link provided to upload photos to your review. If you don't have access to that message, you can also submit photos via the "Add photos" icon in your member profile.

Where can I find candid traveler photos? |
|
You can find member submitted photos by clicking the "traveler photos" link in each property's listing information. (If traveler photos have not yet been submitted for a property, this link will not appear.)

How does the Popularity Index work? |
|
The TripAdvisor Popularity Index incorporates reviews, guidebook entries, newspaper articles and other web content to determine traveler satisfaction. In January 2006 we updated the Popularity Index to place more emphasis on recent information. For more information on the Popularity Index, visit:

The TripAdvisor traveler Rating (the circles) is based on a sophisticated proprietary algorithm based on the quality, quantity and age of submitted reviews.

Can I quote from the hotel's website/brochure or something I found online? |
|
Although a brief attributed quote from another source such as a website or brochure is generally acceptable, we try our best to allow only original material. We do not allow quoted material from personal e-mail correspondence with a property manager or reviews published elsewhere. Only post material you have the legal right to use.

|
