A Taste of Honolulu happens one weekend only in June, and is a fund-raiser for Easter Seals. It is an outdoor food fair with maybe 40 stalls with samples of food to accommodate everyone: Chinese, Brazilian, Hawaiian, seafood, ice cream, desserts, etc. There are wine & beer stalls, as well as soft drinks. The 2 stages provide entertainment throughout the day and evening: one stage geared toward children, and at the opposite end of the park, another with music of all types from rock to Hawaiian. If you purchase your tickets for admission & scrip (food tickets) in advance through the website, you could receive a discount package that can be mailed to you at home, or to your hotel. Bring a blanket or something to sit on, as there's not much in the line of benches, etc. The other option is to bring plastic bags, and do a take-out, to bring back to the hotel. Well worth the visit, as some of the best restaurants on the island are represented, and it's for a good cause!
