While close to Boston and all the activities that has to offer, there is much fun to be had in Brookline as well.

Shopping in Brookline is mostly in Coolidge Corner. Here you can browse the racks of the locally-owned Brookline Booksmith in addition to visiting other local and chain stores selling clothing and gifts. There are small shops scattered throughout Washington Square and Brookline Village as well.

The Coolidge Corner Theater is a Brookline landmark. It is a historic theater showing independent films of all varieties along with cult movies at midnight on the weekends.

One of the most wonderful things about Brookline is the number of parks and green spaces scattered throughout the town. Near Coolidge Corner is Roses Park, filled with small children and pets playing gleefully. The park at the top of Summit Hill provides breathtaking views of the city. Griggs Park is a lush, urban oasis. The largest of them all is Larz Anderson park, with a gazebo, grilling area, and acres of green space.  A full listing of all the parks of Brookline can be found here on the city of Brookline web site.

Perched atop Larz Anderson park is the Museum of Transportation, with classic cars from the early years of the automobile.
