Irving is close to two major airports and is easy to get to from most points in the US and abroad. The area's largest airport, Dallas/Ft. Worth, also one of the largest airports in the US, is about a 15-minute drive from Irving. Ground transportation from the airport into Irving is available in the form of taxis, rental cars, hotel shuttles and the area's mass transit bus system. Driving maps from the airport and of Irving are available on the Convention and Visitors Bureau's website.
The area's other major airport, Love Field, is much smaller than DFW and handles mainly domestic air traffic from a limited number of US carriers. It is the area hub of Southwest Airlines and is also served by Continental Airlines. Ground transport from Love Field to Irving is available in the form of rental cars and taxis, as well as some shuttles and buses, but transport in and out of the airport is much more limited than from Dallas/Ft. Worth. Directions and maps to and from Love Field are available at the airport's website.
