It is impossible to judge how much a weekend will cost you-it all depends what you do. Read on for ballpark figures.
Transportation
For car rentals, plan on paying $35-45 per day. If you take taxis, you'll pay about $10+ for every ride. Buses should cost $5 per person per day. The monorail's 3 day pass with unlimited rides is about $40.00 per person (monorail runs from the MGM Grand to the Sahara; www.lvmonorail.com).
Meals
For inexpensive, sandwiches or fast food, no cocktails, assume $10-12 per person per meal. If you are enjoying fine dining, a nice dinner with drinks will cost $100 per person per meal.
Shows/Entertainment
For shows, a cheap show will cost $20-45 per person, a mid-range show $50-75 per, a headliner $125 per and up. Attractions such as coasters, shark reef, wax museum around $12-20 per person per attraction.
Gambling costs are the hardest to estimate, if you don't gamble at all don't factor it in.
Deals
There are still some great ways to save money. Check the magazines in your hotel room. There are usually a large variety of discount coupons. Don't be afraid to ask your hotel about coupons or discounts at check-in. Sign up for the slot clubs (even if you're not going to play). A number of them will give you a small gift or a discount coupon booklet. You might also check out Vegas.com, they have great list of things to do and see and some great bargains (like the Steak & Shrimp at the Hard Rock for $7.77) If you want to keep down costs, you need to do the research. But don't go so cheap you don't enjoy yourselves.
