Lake Tahoe is not all about sports, the traveler will find festivals and specials events year round that cater the art and cultural enthusiast. Lake Tahoe Food and Wine Festival, the Annual Native American Basketweaver's Market, Animal Arts and Wine Festival, the New Moon Star Party (an astronomical event) in September; El Dorado Great Italian Festival (a Classic in Lake Tahoe) in October, the Italian Festival in April, the lake Tahoe Muisc Festival in August are some of the festivals that the traveler can enjoy in the area.
Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival hosts several events during the Summer. Don't miss Midsummer Nights (it annualy includes a variety of shows from music, dance to opera; the festival's 2006 theme was Celebrating Genius honoring Leonardo da Vinci,Mozart and John Lennon) and Winetasting at Shakespeare's Vineyard, two of the area's cultural highlights.
Incline Village has its own share of events. Incline Library hosts every Thursday in the morning Family Story Time, a family event with games and song for the kids and their familes. Or, you can join locals kids at After Shool Story Time every Tuesday at 3:30 (there is Bilingual -Enfglish/Spanish- Story time the second and Fourth Staurday in September). A fun event is Renaissance Costumes and Customs also at Incline Library. Other festivals in the Village are: Oktober Fest and Artists shows at galleries and public spaces intown.
