Etosha National Park, unlike some of the more commercial Parks in neighbouring South Africa, offers the visitors unparalelled Game viewing, excellent accommodation, and superb facities.
Etosha’s 3 Rest Camps Namutoni, Halali and Okaukeju are different in style and settind. Namutoni features an old German fortress as its main building, but has chalets and camping facilities for hire. Halali is in the center of the Park, whilst Okaukeju is furthest away from the entrance. Each Camp is approx. 2-3 hours of leisurely Game drive away from the next, and you must ensure to arrive before the Gates close at exactly sunset ( see noticeboards).
Game viewing is superb, and invariably visitors with patience and determination see four of the Big 5 (there are no Cape buffalo in Etosha). It is advisable to chat to one of the many friendly Game Rangers at the Reception centers. Each camp offers a small shop providing food and drinks, but prices tend to be high. It is advisable to bring as much as possible with you, before entering the Park.
