A broad selection of restaurants are available that offer both Tunisian and international cuisine.  Some of the better restaurants can be found in the hotels and resorts.  Also, many of the restaurants cater to tourists with English speaking waiters and non-Tunisian food selections.

A couple to try:

Berber restaurant - (72) 280 082 – in the center, on the third floor of the building opposite the old city walls – great seafood
The Hotel Nesrine, Av de la Paix, restaurant offers an international buffet

Tunisian food is quite tasty as they use a variety of spices in their cooking.  Try some of the local dishes including:

Brik – minced meat (usually lamb) and vegetables wrapped in a pastry and fried

Couscous – meat and vegetables cooked with a semolina grain - the national dish of Tunisia

Harissa – a hot red pepper sauce served with lots of dishes

Tagine – a stew of meats, vegetables and fruits
