The Land of Unprecedented History
The amazing combination of historic superpowers left their imposing mark on the cities and villages of this small country in Southern Europe. The long-standing border between Otoman Empire and Austro-Hungarian Empire layed along the western border of Bosnia and Herzagovina for centuries, so this area absorbed significant influx from both Islamic culture from East and Christian Western civilization. The architecture, mostly in city centers, reflects this fact.
