Once you arrive in Singapore's Changi International Airport- be sure to change any money before you head down the escalators to the Arrivals Hall. There are several Money Changing booths located throughout the airport and most do not have lines. Once you are settled in your hotel- ask your hotel front desk where the nearest ATM is located so you can get money daily. You will notice that there are many shopping malls. These malls have many ATMS as well. ATMS can also be found in the MRT stations as well as banks on the street.

Currency
The local currency is Singapore dollars and cents.  Notes come in denominations of SGD 2, SGD 5, SGD 10, SGD 20, SGD 50, SGD 100, SGD 500, SGD 1,000, and SGD 10,000. Coins come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and SGD 1. Other than the Singapore dollar, the US and Australian dollar, Yen and British pound are also widely accepted, at major shopping centres and restaurants.

A 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) is imposed on all purchases.  Tipping is not practised in Singapore as most hotels and restaurants already levy a 10% service charge on bills.

Major credit cards are generally accepted by establishments, including American Express, Diners Card, JCB, MasterCard and Visa.

Another widely-used method of payment is NETS, which allows you to make payment with your Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card.
