Dining in Hong Kong doesn't have to be expensive.  With the endless selection of cheap noodle bars and roast shops, Hong Kong can be a very reasonable dining destination.  Some popular favorites are Wonton Mein (shrimp dumpling, egg noodle, in hot broth) and Char Siu (BBQ Pork, generally with rice).  These dishes can be found just about every corner of Hong Kong ranging from $8-$25.

However, if seeking more upscale or international restaurants, check out Good Times (www.goodtimes.com.hk).  This is a local's secret, which likely can't be found on most travel sites.  It offers 50% off and 'buy 1 main course, get 1 free' deals to almost 100 restaurants (and a smaller selection of bars).  Most of these are in Lan Kwai Fong, SoHo, Wan Chai, TST, and Stanely - which are essentially the international dining districts featuring everything from American, Spanish, Dutch, or virtually any other cuisine imaginable.  The typical dish at one of these restaurants is $150-$200, so a membership to Good Times saves a good chunk of change.

In fact, saving money is only the beginning.  A portion of the proceeds are donated to local charities - making it an socially responsible travel guide.  The discounts are valid 7 days a week and don't require an advance booking.  The only real downside is that it may not be suitable for someone in town for just a day or two as it does cost HK$500 to purchase (2008 = GB£32.50).  If you're in town for more than a couple days though you'll very easily recover your money and save on top of that (only takes one use in many cases).

So, now you know, eat at the cheap local dives or venture upmarket with Good Times -- either way, it won't cost you an arm and a leg.
