The weather and climate can vary greatly across the state of Oregon, with fluctuating temperatures as well as precipitation totals.

Along the coast, never throughout the entire year do the temperatures get very hot.  Then again, neither do they drop to the extremely cold range.  During the summer months, the average highs in most costal areas will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.  During the winter months, the average lows will drop to the upper 30’s and lower 40’s.  The months from November through March are the rainiest along the coast, during which time much rain and cloud cover should be expected.

In central Oregon, the temperatures warm up during the summer and cool down during the winters when compared to the coast.  But the rain dies down drastically.  During the summer months, the high temperatures can reach the mid to upper 80’s, depending on the location.  In the winter months, the average lows will drop to the upper teens to lower 20’s, again depending on the location.  November through March are again the rainiest months, but less than two inches fall per month in most locations.

Summer temperatures in Eastern Oregon are the hottest in the state, and winter temperatures are the coldest.  The winter months tend to be the rainiest of the year, but still dry when compared to the coast.
