Taxis in Pamplona are scarce, unreliable and expensive. It is possible to hail one down in the street if the Green Light on roofsign is lit but it is better to phone a taxi or use the taxi ranks. There is a very busy taxi rank outside Cafe Niza/Gayarre Theatre and just a few paces from Plaza Castillo or 3 minute walk to the rank at the Bus Station.
Rental Cars are available Hertz and Avis at Pamplona (Noain) Airport, Europcar, Avis and Alamo have offices in the city centre.
Parking is extremly difficult and expensive and if you are lucky enough to find street parking make sure you buy a parking ticket at one of the street vending machines. Green lined parking spaces are strickly for residents, Blue lined box is for public use and a maximum of 2 hrs and you must move the vehicle ( in theory ), Green and Blue parking spaces are for paying public during the daytime until 8pm and ONLY for residents after 8 pm. Wheelchair parking spaces are usually White or Blue lined with a wheelchair symbol . There are public carparks such as the one below the Plaza Castillo or Plaza de Toros.
Buses are plentyful in Pamplona and about €1 per trip and some run every hour through the night.
Walking is the best way of getting around Pamplona as it is small and possible to cross from one side to the other in 30 mins.
