There are many shops in Blackpool and the most popular places to shop are the streets surrounding Hounds Hill Shopping Centre.
Hounds Hill is situated a short stroll from the central car park, but also has its own car park with quite reasonable charges.
Hounds Hill has many shops, including Clintons, Superdrug, Early Learning Centre, Game, Dorothy Perkins and Boots. Hounds Hill is currently being developed to bring a brand new Primark Store and Debenhams. It is scheduled to reopen in late August 2008.
Further information on parking, stores and developments can be found at http://www.houndshillshoppingcentre.c...
In the streets surrounding the centre, you will find plenty of shops, such as Thorntons, Woolworths, HMV, Shoe Zone, WigWam, Savers, McDonalds and Argos. Travel a few minutes further north and you will find Ann Summers, BHS, Leonard Dews diamonds, Currys.com, Marks and Spencer and Next to name but a few.
If you have a car, you can follow the prom northbound all the way to Fleetwood, where Freeport Shopping Outlet Village is situated. This is the US discount outlet style shopping park and has its own free car parking. Two of the big names there are Marks & Spencer and Next outlet stores. Further details can be found at http://www.freeport-fleetwood.com
Of course, Blackpool is the ideal base for a Lancashire holiday. In under an hour you can travel to the Trafford Centre in Manchester, and shop in England's newest city, Preston. If you do not have a car, you will not need to miss out on shopping in Preston. Simply take a train from Blackpool North train station and Preston is only a few stops away. The journey will take between 20 and 30 minutes, and once out of Preston train station, the shopping centres are across the road with the Fishergate Centre that includes a Debenhams, TK Maxx and Primark!
