Montreal is a shopper’s paradise. From the chic to the unique, Montreal has everything you could be looking for. Rue Ste-Catherine is a must for shoppers, lined with trendy shops boasting the latest fashions. Many of Montreal’s major shopping plazas are also along or near Ste-Catherine, including the Centre Eaton, les Cours Mont-Royal, the Complexe Les Ailes and Place Montréal, all of which are part of Montreal’s underground city, a brightly lit system of tunnels, boutiques and restaurants that stretch for fifteen miles under the city.

More exclusive boutiques and traditional fare can be found on Rue Sherbrooke, between Guy and Montagne. Upscale fashions, jewelers and antiques can be found nearby at Le Quartier du Musée. Here you will find also the boutique and bookstore of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts .

And for fashions that tend toward the more unique, edgy, stylish and wild, check out St-Denis St and “ La Main” or  Boulevard St-Laurent, where the dominant trends of the shops are individuality and authenticity. Independent boutiques, emerging designers and cutting edge fashion leaders make this district an essential shopping destination.

If looking for hard to find Italian kitchen tools, exlusive kitchen articles imported from Europe, hunting or fishing gear, have a look at Quincaillerie Dante (since 1956), an institution in the ''little Italy'' district. For kitchen articles specifically from France, Arthur Quentin, on St-Denis St, is the place to go.

A wonderful boutique is called Aux Petites Indulgences.  Located at the corner of St Jacques and Laporte, about a 10 min walk from the Atwater market.  A vintage lovers paradise.  Shabby chic, and more.  You really have to visit, just for the fun of it.  An eclectic mix of old and new items.  Everything old is new again, and you will certainly find some really neat things in the boutique.
