Nightlife is full of fun and dancing in Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta’s nightlife starts late (most bands don’t start playing until around 11pm), and goes on until, in many cases, 6am. There is a wide array of nightclubs to choose from in all areas of the town. For live music & disco, Christine, at the Hotel Krystal, is a very popular choice. For a more traditional Mexican experience, try Magombo for Folk Music or Tequila’s for Mariachis (both found in the Malecon or beachfront area). If you have something quieter in mind, you can try Vallarta Adventure’s romantic beach dinner called Rhythms of the Night. If you’re a jazz fan, try Le Bistro on Isla Cuale – although the music is not always live. Remember that not all entertainment is on street level – you may have to trek up to the upper stories of malecon buildings (listen for music or watch for crowds overflowing onto balconies). Another awesome Nightlife option is to go on a Sunet Sail which is a relaxing and luxurious sail ride down the bay with food and drinks...and amazing views..great time.
If you’re not necessarily interested in the typical nightclub, you can find roaming mariachis entertaining on the beaches and in the streets at almost any hour of the night. You can find presentations of anything from puppet shows to serious dramas on the malecon, too.
Most of these attractions are easily accessible by a short cab ride, but it is possible to experience the nightlife on foot, mainly along the beachwalk (malecon) and the in the Los Muertos neighborhood.
