Dining out in Puerto Vallarta spells romance, whether it’s a cozy, candle-lit dinner for two or a jubilant anniversary soiree.
Here are some tried-and-true places to rekindle the flames of love.
Cafe Des Artistes
may be on the expensive side, but it is fabulous.
Especially nice is the
Thierry Blouet room, perfect for an anniversary dinner. It serves a prix-fix menu with optional wine pairing.
The room is beautiful, the food tremendous and Thierry (chef/owner) can make a special personalized desert plate complete with a special message. There is also a pianist and flutist on hand to make your evening even more enjoyable.
A little more modest in price is Barcelona Tapas, which is not far from Cafe Des Artistes. Barcelona Tapas offers awesome food with a delectable tasting menu where patrons can select several dishes picked by the chef.
Especially delicious is the scallops with chorizo – mouthwatering good! The view from the restaurant is spectacular, especially lovely at days end as the sun sets over Banderas
Bay.
Another romantic favorite is
La Palapa
, which has a special candlelight dinner on the beach. A lttle bit pricey perhaps, but just the ticket for romance.
A hands down favorite is
La Kliff
, located a bit past the hotel La Jolla de Mismaloya.
It is an open air restaurant built out of the cliff (that is the "cliffy" rocky end of Bandaras Bay). It has a couple of levels jutting out from the cliff, with the most breathtaking views especially at sunset.
Another strong recommendation is Hacienda Alemana , known for its delicious German cuisine. It's located in the south-side, on Basilio Badillo #378 (that's just a few paces “up'” from Insurgentes Street, a main north-south street in the south-side of town).
This restaurant offers candle-lit tables under the stars; very pretty and romantic!
Bon Appétit!
