Ocho Rios, located on the northeast coast of Jamaica, is reached by airport, although many visitors fly in to Montego Bay instead of flying straight in to Ocho Rios.  This is because the only airport in Ocho Rios is Boscobel Aerodrome ( http://www.aaj.com.jm/airportreg.htm) which is used primarily for domestic flights and doesn’t host any international airline carriers.

The Montego Bay airport is Donald Sangster Airport ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sangster... ).  Donald Sangster Airport is a well-traveled, busy airport serving the Caribbean.  The main airline carrier used by most people flying in to Donald Sangster Airport is Air Jamaica.  Other airlines which fly in to Donald Sangster Airport include:

  • Air Canada
  • American Airlines
  • Avianca
  • Austrian Airlines
  • BWIA
  • Cayman Airways
  • Condor Airlines
  • Continental Airlines
  • Delta Air
  • Martinair
  • LTU International
  • Northwest Airlines
  • Spirit
  • United Airlines
  • US Airways
  • Virgin Atlantic

Travelers flying in to Montego Bay can get from the airport to their Ocho Rios destination via shuttle or taxi.  Shuttle rides are the least expensive way to go, with taxi rides being approximately $120.  The shuttle ride between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios is approximately two hours long.  Rental cars can also be obtained but are not highly recommended.
