Almost all residents and workers have been evacuated from the popular scenic region of Big Sur. A 30-mile stretch of coastal Highway 1 has been closed. The blaze has already burned more than 64,000 acres of forest. Another major fire in the Ventana Wilderness and the Los Padres National Forest has also forced evacuations.

Rooms are adequate size with nice views of either mountains or pool. Each room has a safe for valuables. Beds were comfortable, water pressure good in shower. Plenty of shaded free parking with easy...more
