Want to get away from hustle and bustle? This B & B in an authentic 16th Century manor house is perfect. It is easy to drive to and it is near everything in East Kent, yet it is off the road in a quiet grove of trees. Tracy, the owner is accommodating and charming. She is also a very good cook. Although only breakfast is served, she shared some of her cooking with us one evening when she had made an extra large portion while cooking for her family. It was delicious.
There is an excellent Indian restaurant within walking distance, and we had great fun exploring the narrow public footpaths that lead to the center of the village. Ash is very picturesque and has small shops where snacks and beverages can be purchased.
Don't expect motel-style square rooms and perfection. It's 500 years old! The floors creak and the old beams are rough and exposed, but the furnishings complement the age of the house and everything is very clean.
Molland House deserves the awards it has received.
