I just returned from a 5 night stay at the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus, and my ONLY complaint is that we weren't there long enough!

I've been to many all inclusive resorts, and I have to say this place was spectacular not only in service but in beauty as well.

Staff: As always in DR, they were extremely friendly and helpful. We only spoke English and that was fine. Everyone was kind and helpful when we needed something. We got so friendly with them by the end it was hard to say goodbye!

Resort & Grounds: I've been to D.R. 3 other times, always Punta Cana, and this was the nicest resort thus far. Everything was super clean, very elegant, and luxurious. The room was beautiful, with a great big roman shower. The lobby was huge and very nice; lots of people hang there at night for drinks.

Beach & Pool: Amazing beach, calm, clear water. The beach also has the lighthouse bar which is very convenient! The pool was huge and very clean. There were tons of places to sit in the shade or in the sun.

Food: All the restaurants were great. The service was excellent. The people are just so attentive which is why I love returning to DR year after year.

Night Life: I was with another single girl (both 27) and we were looking for a resort that offered elegance & relaxation, as well as night life and dancing. Compared to other resorts in DR, this one was more family oriented, BUT they still had a club and several bars for the younger people that wanted to live it up at night. So we were able to relax by day, and dance the night away. The staff is always looking to party at night, so they were fun to dance with, plus there were lots of European guys hanging around the club!

Overall: This place has it all. It's not too family oriented where its boring at night, and its not to party oriented that service and luxury are compromised. Great staff, great rooms, great food, and beautiful beach!

myself, my husband, son aged 8 and my parents stayed for 2 wks 20 march to 3 apr 2008. what can i say apart from wonderfull!!!!! the hotel definitely had a 5* rating, there wasnt anything i could fault about it, the cleanliness was exceptional and the staff were extremely friendly, the choice of food was second to none...my son thoroughly enjoyed his time at the kids club, and the pool and beach areas were very child friendly..............the only 1 complaint i do have is that there were a lot of foreigners i.e french canadians that we found to be very arrogant and rude...but we didnt let them spoil our time at this fantastic hotel....will definitely return here!!

I have just returned from the hacienda dominicus myself and my wife had a fantastic time this hotel is the best place i have ever stayed in the staff are 1st class food 1st class rooms 1st class well just about everthing is first class i will be going back and that is the first time i have ever done that if you are going to the dominican go here its a little futher to travel from the airport but its worth it we booked with thompson but i am sure you could book direct with the hotel and arrange your own flights we did look at other hotels when we were there but they were no match so dont delay you will have a great time if you dont you only have yourself to blame

We went to the Paradisus Rio de oro last year with our kids 10 and 12, before it became adult's only.
It was wonderful so we booked here thinking it would be similar.
It is a lovely hotel, and a lovely beach- if not a little crowded!

In the restaurants they served you white or red wine by the glass- in Cuba we had a wine list and chose our own
The buffet restaurants we very good but huge sometimes making it feel a bit canteen like!
The a la cartes were good, but again wine no choice!
I disliked the noise from the star friends doing aerobics on the beach, and round the pool later.
There wasn,t much for my kids to do the 12 year old was too old for the kids club!
Walked on the beach a few times to be harrassed by the shack owners insisting you look in their shops.
Nothing outside the hotel,
It was a pleasant beach holiday- great weather, but if you are adults go the the Paradisus .
