We spent the last night of our St. Lucia honeymoon in one of their apartments because of the hotel's proximity to the airport.
My overall perception of Kimatrai is that it's an okay place to spend a night. It looks like quite a bit of money and effort was put into the place when it was built several decades ago, but it's a bit faded now. I found our room comparable to budget accomadations in the U.S. We had okay food in the restaurant at dinner time.
The negatives: It took about an hour to get our check after we were done with dinner. The lights were out in the bathroom, the refridgerator, television, and several outlets didn't work, and the sheets were covered with pills/fuzz balls.
As mentioned in a previous review, the hotel's webpage shows some photos of scenic views on their homepage that are definitely not from the hotel. The view is of the fishing port at Vieux Fort and the ocean. Unfortunately, there is no beach within walking distance of the hotel.
