Las Alamandas has lovely villas on a stunning beach with beautiful gardens on a huge estate. The beach is very private and has big waves crashing in.

The food is good . there is a lovely swimming pool.
unfortunately , the service is poor and really lets the place down. Although it is remote and one makes allowances for that, there are only a few villas and guests. Everything is very slow so order your margarita for the sunset at least an hour before you expect the sun to start setting!

Service aside, it is a beautiful place to escape to if you want to be secluded.

I stayed at the hotel with 2 friends and had a perfect vacation. The organic food, the personalized service, the amazing views, the tranquility of the surroundings - all around a fantastic experience. This hotel can make your dreams come true - ask for a private dinner on a secluded beach and it's done. They have a private landing strip so if you have your own airplane you can pull right up to reception (almost). The variety of tequilas on offer at the roof-top bar could get you into trouble but the pool is the perfect place to sleep it off.

All I can say is if you have a special celebration or want a truly memorable vacation look no further. This place is the most romantic place I have ever been. The staff was amazing and so accommodating. We went by horseback up to see the sunset where we had a bottle of champagne waiting for us, skinny dipped on private beaches which they had perfectly set up for us before our arrival, dinner with a bonfire on the beach...totally above and beyond.
I am a very discriminating traveler I and pored through multiple reviews/sites trying to find the perfect spot. Look no further...this is your place. Beware though...it is not inexpensive but worth every penny for those who want the ultimate memorable experience! PS As much as the two-hour drive was a total (and expensive) drag, it was worth it. Book it!!!!

Once you've entered the gates at Las Alamandas you feel like you've arrived in paradise. If you need to get away from it all and fall into immediate relaxation, this is the place. Listening to the sound of the ocean, swinging in a hammock with margarita in hand, you feel like it just couldn't get any better. But think again becuase the staff is so accomodating, they will do just about anything to make your stay one of a kind - picnic on the private beach, wine and cheese on a cliff overlooking the ocean at sunset or horseback riding just to name a few of the ways to enjoy your stay. The fact that there is hardly another guest in sight also contributes to the feeling of celebrity. You can dine in the comfort of your private villa or head to the restaurant, no lines or reservations required here. Speaking of the food, it is not only delicious, most of it is also organic. I highly recommend the fresh fruit plate at breakfast, it's amazing.
The rooms are extremely clean and well kept inside and out and the decor is colorful and traditional.
Not only are the accomodations 5 star, the staff is as well. I highly recommend taking the drive from Puerto Vallarta or Manzanillo and staying at Las Alamandas at least once in your life. You will love this place!
