Great Hotel, everything was avaliable in just one place: breakfast, lunch, dinner, bar, music, casino, pool, beach, in-store, etc.. The room was very comfortable and pleasant and was attended readily and quick by the maids each morning.
A little above price but we had a very good time. We even got to watch two wonderful weddings in the garden by the pool during the weekend.
The airport was near and so we could watch airplanes departing and airplanes arriving.

The hotel is dated but clean. The staff was fine. Restaurants in the hotel are mediocre but it is fun to watch locals dance in the Salsa bar in the evenings. The beach is better than we experienced at The Intercontinental or El San Juan up the road. However, this hotel is very close to the airport and every twenty to thirty minutes you hear one of the jets take off from the airport. You don't really hear the jets from inside the hotel but definitely while on the beach. Not many restaurants within walking distance and it is a $20-30 cab ride to Old San Juan.

Pros: Beautiful beach, 5 places to eat inside, swim-up bar, casino, most rooms have some kind of ocean view with balcony (smaller balconies farther back), close to airport, close to Pinones

Cons: The closest hotel to the airport = Noise from planes (this noise is drowned out by the two balcony doors and ocean waves for the most part), For those not all uppity, the clientel can be, Not close to Old San Juan ($19 taxi or 45 min bus ride)

For those that like nature, this would be the hotel because it's close to Pinones -absolutely beautiful area
For those that like the night life and such, pick a hotel closer to Old San Juan

All the ameneties are great and the food was generally good, but it's a shame a nice hotel can't offer some good food at reasonable rates. We ordered a shrimp dish from the expensive one - 6 shrimp for $32 and not much more.

This hotel is best suited for a short stay or overnight stop. Having traveled extensively within the Marriott brand, this hotel falls short of expectations. Would not recommend this hotel for a family vacation or long stay.

On the positive side, the hotel does have a nice selection of restaurants, bars and buffets, though they are a little on the expensive side. The hotel itself is updated with nice furnishings and large LCD televisions. Airport noise was not a disturbance inside the hotel, it is well insulated.

On the negative side, this hotel is not the cleanest Marriott in which I've stayed, but it is not the worst either. The beds and pillows were quite uncomfortable and during the week the hotel began some renovations of the pool area and casino. Nearly all slot machines were closed (they left five 1 cent slots, but cleverly--and to my disappointment--left all the high roller slots. The beach service was very good, but be advised that they have only a handful of umbrellas for guests. On the weekends it can become a fight for the umbrella--leave your chairs and someone takes them--I even saw someone run over and pull am umbrella out of the sand when a couple got up to walk. This was irritating. Staff service was also not up to expectations, especially for an elite member. Also note sand fleas are active at dawn and dusk. While signs in the room indicate the hotel will provide insect repellant, we found this difficult to obtain. The front desk looked at us like we were crazy when we asked for it and then told us they did not have any and to try again later. The jet traffic also effectively ruins the pleasant beach experience, which is very active during certain times of the day. In summary, would not stay at this particular hotel again.
