Our third visit to La Cusinga was just as rewarding and pleasurable as our first visits here. The resort is awesome -the tranquility of the rainforest trails to the desolate, sandy beaches is quite amazing. The friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the cozy cabinas, the wonderful fruits and delicious meals are also what makes our stay here so much fun. But if you decide to leave the resort, there are several tours we've taken that were real adventures and quite reasonably priced.
What we like best about La Cusinga though is their commitment to local conservation and community efforts, and their dedication to sound environmental practices.
We look forward to our next visit to La Cusinga - to see our old friends there, and to make new adventures !

We love La Cusinga - it is the perfect setting to teach a week-long workshop about learning from nature and sustainability because Cusinga shares the same values that we teach.

The facility provides everything you would expect from a conventional lodge - good food, comfortable beds, beautiful accommodations, safe environment, access to interesting things to do - but does all this via organic and local food, handmade furniture from locally and sustainably harvest trees, is powered by the sun and the stream, and is run by a tight knit family and community group committed to healthy people, a healthy forest and the proliferation of biodiversity.

We will return to La Cusinga for our fourth year in a row and already have our 5th visit booked for 2009. Cusinga almost seems too good to be true, but everything about the lodge and the people who work there are nothing but authentic. We cannot offer high enough accolades for this beautiful place and people.

We have stayed at La Cusinga a couple of times while in Costa Rica on business. It is the perfect retreat for us. I often stay at the lodge all day while my husband is off working. It is perfect because you could spend a week on the property and still not have experienced all of it's magical beauty and serenity. You can go on long or short hikes, explore the rainforest, take a morning dip under a private secluded waterfall and spend the afternoon on an equally secluded and beautiful beach. The sunsets are magnificent, the staff, food, hopsitality, music :), family atmosphere--- beyond compare. Visit La Cusinga! Learn about it's history, about sustainable development, and perserving the ecosystem. It is also a bird watcher's paradise. The staff is very knowledgeable and will expose you to as much education and experience as you like, or leave you alone in your own private paradise.

I highly recommend La Cusinga and will defintely return.

La Cusinga is truly paradise on earth! I can't imagine a better place to spend time then at this gorgeous lodge on the beach with amazing views, great swimming, pristine forest, and oh so many animals.
