Location- Right next to the river, away from the beach front. But only a 5-10minute walk to Waikiki Beach. Close to shops and restaurant. Quiet street.

Rooms- The Pualeilani Suites are over the pool and have a kitchenette and sofa bed. Quite roomy, but dark inside. Only problem was the constant noise during the night (possibly the spa or pool filter).
Rooms in the tower were very small. Smallest we came across on our trip. But, they did have 3 single beds which was a bonus for us.

Service- Very friendly! Porters were extremely helpful and nice.
Front desk- Adequate

Amenities- Pool and spa were lovely and always clean. Did not try the gym.

Food- The hotel has a bar that does meals and onsite cafe and an asian takeaway food shop. Did not try these.
Breakfast- Croissants, toast, mini doughnuts, yoghurt, tea, and juice. We enjoyed it. It's not 5 star, but it's breakfast and everyone around us in the mornings seemed to be taking a lot of it! So not too many complaints!

Tourist info- This hotel has a little tourism booth with a lovely local lady as the agent. She is FANTASTIC! Will book anything for you and give you advice on travel etc.

Extras- It's lovely sitting and eating breakfast at the tables next to the pool in the morning.

the room is ok ,nice bathroom, good location but the surprise was in the morning when I decided to take my breakfast with my boyfriend....they served us terrible food like some small dry left pieces of doughnuts and croissant with "chemical "jam and a weak coffee!i understand that it s a complimentary breakfast but I will be shame to serve this kind of breakfast to my customers it s not respectfull to us.If they DONT know how to do breakfast SO dont do it! the next day we decided to skip their breakfast to take our breakfast to mariott hotel, expensive but it was a breakfast at least

Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel, located about 6-7 blocks from Waikiki Beach, if you're willing to take public transportation, "The Bus" which is rated # 1 bus service all over the states... stops about 3-4 blocks from it (buses # 19,20 and 42 as long as the buses say Waikiki Hotels) hotel is right beside Ala Wai Canal, nice view as well, for the price this hotel is on the lower end, also one good thing was the free pick up from the Airport on arrival although on your departure you would have to get your own transportation back to the airport...no WIRED high speed internet access in every room, probably wireless, but i didnt see a plug for my laptop, all in all, still a bit expensive at $105 a night since i found a hotel for $20 less than this one...down the street.

“Noisy air conditioning on 2nd floor!!”

Waikiki Sand Villa Hotel

We stayed one night in the Sand Villa, in a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. The room was comfortable. There was a loud rumbling noise, seemingly from something like a big central air conditioner, that continued all night. It was about as loud as a plane during flight -- certainly not unendurable, but not pleasant either.

The staff was pleasant and helpful, but because of the noise I would not stay there again.

We have just got back from staying at this hotel and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with it. The location is great, yes it is not right on the beach but it takes about 5 minutes to walk to it. It is also 1 minute from a supermarket (Food Pantry) and short walks to lots of restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is a little dated and could do with some modern decor in the rooms, but it is clean and has plenty of amenities (a bar, pool, jacuzzi, a sushi bar etc). The rooms themselves were an adequate size with a queen bed and a single (maybe upgrading the beds to doubles would be better though), with a balcony - we were very high up and had great views over the golf course and up to the mountains. The staff were very nice and always helpful.

Overall a reasonably priced hotel where I would most definitley stay again, maybe not in December though as we did get quite a few cloudy and rainy days - not that I can blame the hotel for this though.
