My husband and I took our first trip to Hawaii the end of February into March of this year 2008. Decided to stay in Oahu because of all the action. Took one day trip to Maui, could not wait to get back to our Home Pacific Beach. This was a perfect place to stay. The room was an OK room, but how long are you there? The view from our deck was great. We bought the included breakfast at the oceanarium. Could not have been better. The staff was very pleasant and the valets called for our transportation when we needed it and could not have been nicer. The ABC store attached was a great place to get souveniers and needed items and the little coffee shop/pizza cafe outside the hotel was a perfect afternoon get a way. The greatest thing was the location. When you came down the elevator to go to the beach or out onto the street you just walked right out onto the street without having to go thru the main lobby. The beach was right across from the one way street. There was a beautiful Catholic church just two blocks down the street.
My husband bought a newspaper every morning at the front desk after breakfast and there were two ladies waiting to book any excursion you wanted. Very helpful. Sometimes I read reviews from some people who are so rude and complaining about where they stay. But the Pacific Beach claims to be a 3 star hotel not a 4 or a 5. You know that when you book the hotel. The room was always clean and comfortable. But the best thing about this hotel was the location. We could not have been in a better location. Only one block from Dukes statue, one block from the free shuttle to Hilo Hatties. We had a wonderful vacation and I left a little bit of my heart in Oahu, HI. We may go back someday. The plane trip back to Ohio is tasking, but when we go back Pacific Beach will be where we stay.
