We stayed here March 10-16, 2007 in room 1520 which was an ocean view room on the side of the building facing the Sheraton. We had booked a partial ocean view room and they offered us an upgrade to an ocean view room for $45/ night. The rooms were large and clean, the bathroom was large with a large walk-in closet. Because we were on a high floor and away from the street, our room was very quiet. We did hear the people next door through the walls, but we must have been on similar schedules because they did not wake us up or keep us awake.
The shower was great (hot, good pressure) but it was a very small tub which could be a negative for those who like to take baths. The toiletries in the bathroom were nice and smelled very Hawaiian (floral) so if you don't like scents like that, bring your own.
Positives: Free calls, in-room safe large enough for laptop, free fitness center, business center for use with credit card, fridge, coffeemaker with coffee that is replenished daily.
Negatives: Beds were too soft and I felt I could feel every spring in the mattress.
The pool area was always full, but we usually got a chair. Pai's deli was nice to grab a sandwich or quick breakfast. The ABC store across the street also had sushi and noodles and fruit for take out for a light meal. We never ate at any of the restaurants as there were many interesting restaurants within walking distance. Try Mika Won (very authentic Korean) behind the International Market.
