I stay at this hotel every year for Thanksgiving weekend during my annual trip to Buffalo. That said this review is for that specific weekend, which if you know anything about Buffalo you know is crazy with the World's Biggest Disco on Saturday and all the crazy drinkers on Chippewa on Wednesday.

Positives:
Location
Breakfast - Make your own waffles are great!)
Staff - They have always been great
Size of Rooms - It's prefect!

Negatives:
Times for Breakfast - The Friday after Thanksgiving really should be treated like a weekend and breakfast should be available longer

Parking - It's two blocks away, which in Winter is a PAIN! Also the parking lot people do not enforce the rule that to be parked in a Hotel space you must display your voucher. During the Worlds Biggest Disco this means that if you return after 8PM you will not get a spot.

It's Dirty - There is no excuse for 1/2 full beer cans and 1/2 eaten slices of pizza to be on the elevator at 10AM on Thanksgiving. I understand the whole hotel turns into a party Wednesday night, and the staff can be overwhelemed, but surely they can plan for this.

It's Run Down - The style of decor isn't important to me, but everything in the place is so worn down it just looks sad.

All said, I still like staying at this place!

If there were negative stars, this would get it! After visiting the sheas center for a show my group of 8 went back to the hotel for some down time. With 8 people and 3 rooms we were needing to bunk together. My husband pulled out my friends DAUGHTERS sofa bed to find a nasty blood stain on the bottom part of the sofa bed. Mind you it was stained through to the mattress. This was not easy to miss as the springs on the bottom part of the bed were MISSING. there were only 2 holding up the foot end of the sofa bed. now mind you this is 3am and I wake MY daughter up to find she had an even worse stain on the bed measuring 13 by 24 plus inches. There were no mattress pads on them. Just ONE sheet! My friend had called to the front desk and explained the situation. someone had brought up a rollabout bed and then said we had to pay for that as well. I think not! He was then informed that he was going to need to bring up another one. He stated that he would have to find one and make it up. He was reluctant to do so, but I wasnt about to give up. I numerously requested the OWNERS phone number but only recieved the managers. I am not giving up on this. If you fall unlucky enough to stay at this hotel, be sure to check all the mattresses! Including the ones in the sofa. The blood is an extreme health hazzard. I will be calling the Buffalo department of health. I will contact who I have to in any way possible. This is so wrong in so many ways. I do have pictures of the incident. I plan to post them everywhere! The excuse was that the hotel was under new ownership. Not an actual reason to rent out BAD rooms. Common sence is to rent out the rooms that have been renovated.

Downtown buffalo very convenient for business, Fridays late night dinner, Amtrak Exchange station not far $4.00 cab, trolly out front - the room was exactly like a college dorm, fridge, microwave, separate livingroom with pull-out. Far from fancy, great for work or crash pad. Kitchenette table with room to spread out. TV's from the 50's but remotes work. Semi clean (don't get your hopes up).

I stay in Buffalo a lot for business, normally at the Hyatt Downtown. I will not stay at the Comfort Inn again for a number of reasons. Very loud location, especially on a night when the local bars are hopping. Lot of trucks, etc. Room is very worn and has seen better days. Bed was terrible; one side was all beat down. Basically sat on the floor. Water shut off in the middle of the shower. Not as clean as I like to see it. But primarily I won't stay here again because I have a problem staying at a hotel that requires me to use my key to enter the main entrance after 10pm. And the two girls behind the front desk when I checked in were wearing sweatshirts and jeans. Is this how the hotel wants to project itself to business travelers? On the plus side, the room was big with a separate bedroom. Two televisions. Big bathroom. Fridge & microwave. Good location to bars, HSBC Arena, Bison Stadium. TGIFriday's inside. Better for young people & college students.
