I frequently travel for business and have stayed at this property many times in the past but for the second time I arrived for my reservation and they claimed they were overbooked. After explaining that this has happened to me at this property before and some other circumstances a room suddenly appeared. I am disappointed that Marriott feels it is okay to lie to customers. I was happy to get the room but very disappointed at the circumstances. I was also told by the desk clerk that this frequently happens during the warmer weather months and they can have as many as 5 overbookings. This policy shows complete disregard for customers. I can understand why some hotels may have a policy to overbook one or even two rooms, but five? There is something not right about that. I was offered another room for free elsewhere but I really wanted to stay where I was booked. I wrote in to the Marriott and their solution was 3000 rewards points - I told them I was not interested as I will not be back to this property.
