“A Good Stay”

Fairfield Inn Flagstaff

I recently spent one night at this Fairfield on my way to the Grand Canyon. Everything went well. Check in was quick. The rooms are a bit on the tight side, but for a single traveler it was just fine. I really enjoyed the very comfortable bed and nice pillows. You are given 5 pillows to choose from of differing firmness. I enjoyed that. I skipped the continental breakfast in the AM but that too seemed adequate. I'd stay here again.

Coming in from the Grand Canyon from the 89 Freeway... finding the hotel was a little frustrating. My MapQuest directions were not accurate. Not really sure why. I couldn't find S. Milton on my fold out map either. Luckily the town is small enough that the first gas station knew exactly where to point me. The freeway signs are all bundled together in Flagstaff. It can look overwhelming and you're not totally sure if you're hitting the end of town or not.
Anyhow, finally reaching the hotel. Check in was easy. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. The only thing is the cleaning crew cleaned everything but the mini fridge. Someone left a to go box of a chicken sandwich. No biggy... The beds were REALLY comfortable & the bathroom was clean! Also free wireless in the bldg is ALWAYS a plus!

Reading previous reviews, I was excited to try out the "waffle machine". The continental breakfast wasn't bad at all. I think the setup could've been a little better. They should've moved the waffle maker to it's own section. It was right in the middle of the line, so it caused major foot traffic. Otherwise, the food selection was awesome! We really didn't feel like going out for breakfast elsewhere, which was great for the pocket!

I'm not sure what regular priceof the hotel was since I used Marriott points, but the place looked better than many other hotels in the area. I would definitely book here again!

“Good value, small but clean and comfortable”

Fairfield Inn Flagstaff

We stayed here while visiting the Grand Canyon and Sedona. The location is great as it's really close to coffee, restaurants, your typical chain stores etc...

Room - We stayed on the 3rd floor in a room with 1 King bed. The room was a bit cramped, especially the bathroom, but it was very clean and suited our needs.

Staff - Very friendly and helpful
Breakfast - Selection was good (yogurt, pastries, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, hard boiled eggs) but it was sooooooooo packed. And they had these make your own waffle machines which was the main reason it took so long to get food.

Noise - During our stay, there were a lot of families with young children and the walls are very thin, so at times the noise level got to be annoying. Stay on the 3rd floor if you don't want to hear pounding footsteps through the ceiling.

Overall, this was a good hotel. I would probably stay here again given the price and the location.

The main issues I had with this hotel was the size of the room (small) and what seemed to be the qualify of the construction of the hotel (thin walls, etc.). The room was small, which resulted in the room feeling crowded, the sink was outside the bathroom, and the bathroom was cramped. The walls were also pretty thin as you could hear the television in the neighboring rooms and the floorboards creaking when people were walking around. The exterior hallways were also an issue as it was in December and obviously cold outside (no ice unless you were willing to bundle up). The bed was better than average and the hotel room was clean. I suppose the value was OK for Flagstaff (100 for the night), but I was expecting a bit more.

“Nice, Clean, Newer Decor”

Fairfield Inn Flagstaff

We stayed here en route to our home. We were pleased with the cleanliness and contemporary décor of the room. The bed was a bit on the firm side, but just fine overall. I requested an additional blanket and received one within 10 minutes. The shower was one of the better ones we had on our entire trip, and we stayed in some very nice properties on this trip. The room included a small fridge and microwave.

We were fortunate and had a quiet evening. I had read about noise, and was especially concerned when were given a first-floor room. We didn’t hear a peep all night long.

Our morning wasn’t quite as relaxing. We walked into the lobby for breakfast and were greeted by a mob scene. At least 60 people were trying to get breakfast before hitting the road (headed home or to the Grand Canyon). It was utter mayhem. The young woman who was responsible for the breakfast area was doing a great job, but it was virtually impossible for her to keep up with the crowd. We finally grabbed two Jimmy Dean biscuit sandwiches from the fridge and took them to the microwave in our room. We ultimately enjoyed a quiet breakfast of the sandwiches, coffee, and OJ in our room.

I ran into one woman in the breakfast area who was practically in tears. The crowd had overwhelmed her, and she said she hadn’t slept all night due to noise from an upstairs room filled with young children. I was grateful we had been lucky.
