This was our first experience of a Bed & Breakfast in America. It exceeded all our expectations. Bennie & Sue were friendly and helpful, but not intrusive. Breakfasts were a feature in themselves. I was amazed to find that if we drank a soft drink or a beer from the fridge, it had been replaced with a fresh one the next morning. The property oozes Old World charm and comfort. We used the delightful Pool, and also the Hot Tub, which is situated right outside Charlies Room. We also lazed some time away on the Swing seats. Bennie took the time to point us in the direction of the local restaraunts, and helped us with directions to the places we wanted to see. The location of Brackenridge is perfect, with interesting easy walks in the King William district, and the Riverwalk and the Alamo etc are within easy and pleasant walking distance. Trolleys stop nearby if you don't want to walk. I can't see how any Bed & Breakfast could surpass this one.

I wanted to take a moment to tell about our wonderful two night stay at the Brackenridge House Bed & Breakfast, which is located in the Downtown Historic District in San Antonio, Texas. We met our friends there. They were the ones who made the reservations for us. My husband and I had never been to a bed & breakfast before, so we were a bit apprehensive. We didn't know what to expect. It was a wonderful experience. I think we are spoiled for any future B&B visits...we will always expect to be treated as special as we were this week. We also appreciated the host & hostess, Bennie & Sue Blansett taking time out of their busy schedule to visit with us each morning. They suggested places for us to see, things to do, and special restaurants and eateries in the area to check out. The special touches they provided made our stay so special. To top it off, our breakfasts were exquisite. We all felt so pampered and well taken care of. We really appreciated our stay at the Brackenridge House and especially enjoyed taking the walking tour around the King William Historic District. The homes were fabulous. I am spreading the word to all of my friends to stay with Bennie & Sue...if they are ever in the San Antonio area. Our trip with friends was so much more personal than if we had stayed in a hotel. I'm ready to go back.

My husband and I spent five nights at this wonderful bed and breakfast in April of this year. We thought this would be a good time to visit San Antonio since it was the last few days of Fiesta.

When we arrived at the B&B, Bennie greeted us and gave us a wealth of information about restaurants, the riverwalk, Fiesta and the bed and breakfast itself.

We've stayed in numerous B&B's over the last 12 or so years, and we rate this one highly. Bennie and Sue, the owners, were very gracious hosts. Breakfasts were scrumptious and served at 9 a.m. (good for me since I'm not an early riser).

This B&B is located in the King William historic district and within walking distance of the riverwalk and most other sights in the area. During Fiesta, there was a parade that traveled right past the Brackenridge House, and we had front row seats.

Bennie and Sue live in a home next to the B&B, and their guests have access to a beautiful stone swimming pool in their backyard.

If you're looking for warm, friendly hosts, outstanding gourmet breakfasts and a good location to San Antonio sights, this is the perfect place to stay.

I stayed at the Brackenridge House in May for two nights, not nearly long enough. Charlie's room was a cozy haven in the city, with everything we needed and wanted and more. The hosts had beer. wine, sherry and chocolates for us. There was a gorgeous pool to use and we did. It was so refreshing to come back from sightseeing to be able to cool off in the pool. It was also nice to sit on the front porch in the swing or rocking chairs. The breakfasts were divine and very filling. The bed and breakfast is in good area for restaurants and proximity to the downtown core and the alamo. I had a great stay.
