Wonderful get away, Checked in on Saturday and out on Tuesday. Front desk very good, a minor downside is breakfast area small and crowded as people seemed to gather here rather than dine and move on. Facility clean and welcoming, we walked every where we went however trolley stop right around the corner if you are not a walker. Enjoyed our stay and would return in the future.

We were really pleased with this hotel! The rate is great, the hotel was clean and quiet, and the staff was incredibly nice, it had a great free breakfast in the morning and the fact that the trolley (which will get you EVERYWHERE) stops right on the corner.

Here's the downsides (and they're really not 'down', just something to keep in mind.) The pool is very nice. Very clean. It's small though. Very small... so don't go thinking it's some HUGE pool. It's just big enough to cool off and have a quick swim. The hotel is on a side street, but seriously, it's 3 blocks away from the Riverwalk, and at half the cost of the other places around, it's really a great deal. You have to pay for parking, but... you have to do that at most of the places downtown, so don't let that stop you. I'd suggest the 'off site parking' they have. It's 1/2 of the onsite, and it's almost right across the street.

All in all, this is a great hotel for the money. Our family found it economical, clean, and really a great place to stay for our vacation.

We had a great stay at this hotel. A very cool building and the rooms are impressive especially when you consider the building was a jail house. Conveniently located for walking distance to most of the S.A. attractions. Staff was wonderful- very friendly. The continental breakfast offered enough options that we didn't run out of choices in a 4 day stay. We loved San Antonio with the exception of the public transportation system (we actually had the tourist bus blow past us at a stop!)- take a cab or walk, it's less frustrating.

We were 4 and had taken a room with 2 queen/double beds.
Even with so many of us, the room didn't seem crowded. The bathroom was spic and span and very modern. Very spacious and welcoming.
Ofcourse, there are no views from any rooms, but it feels good to know the historical value of that building.

The breakfast was relaxing and we could make ourselves fresh and warm waffles :)).

There was a strange smell in the corridors when we checked-in, but thankfully the room smelt fresh.
It'd have been good if there was a direct access to the self-parking lot, instead of taking 2-3 turns and red lights away from the hotel.

Overall it was a nice and cozy experience, and value for money definitely, given its distance from the downtown and market square.
