“Wonderful Ambiance”

Riverwalk Vista

Found this hotel on SanAntonio.com and am so glad I did. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and loved everything about this cozy place. Upon arrival we unloaded our vehicle at the front door (yes, a little hard if the parking is not there, but I don't take forever to unload my vehicle either) and rang the intercom. The inkeeper came down to meet us and show us where to park. It took about 15 minutes to park and walk back to the hotel and when we got back inside our belongings had already been brought to our room.
One thing I enjoyed about this place was that you get very personal service. Only 17 rooms instead of the hundreds you find elsewhere. The room we had was fantastic, Aragon King, great view of the Riverwalk, high cielings, very comfortable setting and the bed was absolutely awesome. The hotel is very convenient to get to the Rivercenter Mall, Convention center, and especially the Riverwalk.
A wonderful Bed and Breakfast type Inn with Hotel ammenities. I highly recommend this hotel for couples and business travelers but not for families.

“Best Decision for place to stay!”

Not for romance only, I was on a business trip and this was a great place to check in and rest. My flt. there was a mess, after a whole day of flying, sitting on runways, etc., I got there in a rotten shape. The Innkeeper, she listened, checked me in in my room, and offered a complimentary glass of wine. She also gave me the 411 of places to eat and info on the complimentary internet connection. Plus, she arranged for my baggage to be received, YES, the airline left it behind and it was arriving at 2 AM at the Inn.

After the details were carried out, I rested in the room, they had VERY nice soaps and toiletries, relaxing herbal ones, and the bathroom had the RAIN shower head. Bathrobes were also in the room, nice since all my things were still coming. Combined with the hardwood floors, feather bed, soothing sleeper, equals a very needed rest...

Next day, complimentary breakfast was a surprised welcome too... Overall, I would say, go here... don't even ask...

“Romantic Anniversary”

Riverwalk Vista

5 of 5 stars
Aransas Pass, Texas
May 9, 2008

I will start at the very beginning...

This was our 3 year wedding anniversary and San Antone is close enough to drive, so what the heck?

When I booked over the phone the Inn Keeper was very accomodating. We arrived on Wednesday and we got an opened spot right in front (which I hear is rare) of the front door. We buzzed the Inn Keeper who met us at the door and let us in, and she showed my husband where the public parking garage was ($6.00 a day, or each time you leave) (but why leave when everything you need is right there within walking distance? even the liquor store Ha Ha)...anyway while the hub bub was parking the truck, she walked me up to our room where I checked us in and she gave us the key to the room and the code to get in the front door...

So we had dinner at the Fig Tree restaurant (we ate at the Little Reign, their sister restaurant next door, a few years ago) Be prepared to spend some $$ if you're going there....this kind of place is like a once a year type of thing for us (well maybe 2 or 3 times a year) but the food is WONDERFUL!!!!!! Be sure to chew very slowly. Ask for Leon.

I had a cake made from one of the links that was on their site (Alamo Sweets ) So when we left the room for dinner, I had the cake sent all surprise like.... it was so pretty. I had it made to match our wedding cake.

So about the hotel....the shower was fab. I loved the big heavy door. The whole bathroom was great. I loved the glycerin soap too. I tried to find it online but I guess they only sell in bulk to hotels. They had a coffee maker but we didn't use it.

The teddy on the bed was very cute..I brought him home ($12)

We slept too late to get the complementary breakfast.

Don't bring your big truck with you...we had a rental 4 door F-150 and the tires rubbed on the ramp in the parking garage.

The fish looked a little depressed but I told him he could be my baby while we were there...our 2 kids (age 4 and 8 mos.) had to stay home (DARN!!!) my husband tried to give him cake...he didn't though.

The history of the building was enough for me...i like the creaking floors and the coziness of the whole place.

We will definately go back!!!!! Thank you Riverwalk Vista!!!

Please let me know if you have any questions :)

“Not that great:(”

Riverwalk Vista

Apr 29, 2008

We wanted to love this place and in some regrads it was very nice, but overall not a great place to stay for how much money we paid ($250!) I think it greatly depends on the room you stay in. Ours was facing the big red sculpture and was unbearably noisy. We had no idea we were on the parade route for Fiesta. We wished the innkeeper had told us this prior to our stay as we were looking for a more peaceful stay. We didn't sleep until 4:30am because of the parade and noisy clean up afterwards. They did serve yummy cookies, a good breakfast and the decor of the hotel was very lovely. However, for that price, and what we got, we will not being staying again.

“GREAT, Unique Experience”

Riverwalk Vista

5 of 5 stars
New York, NY
Apr 9, 2008

Stayed in Sarah's Suite and Living Room from April 4 through 8 2008. A great, unique, memorable experience.

From check in until we left, the staff was nothing but incredibly friendly and helpful. Everything we needed was provided, the (free) breakfast was great in the morning and the wine and cookies hit the spot at night.

We loved our rooms. They were adjoining, each with own bathroom, TV and a/c units. The living room had a pull out couch. We very easily slept 4 people in the rooms with room to spare. Very, very reasonable cost for what was provided.

The hotel was really like an oasis. Right across the street from the riverwalk and everything it has to offer, and 20 minutes walking from the Alamodome, we felt like we were returning "home" every night when we came back to the hotel. It is a 3 minute walk to the Alamo and 20 minutes to the King William District.

The noise was an issue for us, particularly the first night. We were there during the, probably, busiest weekend of the year for San Antonio - the NCAA Final Four (culmination of the basketball season). While there were literally hundreds of people on the streets, it isn't the people noise that we heard; but, rather, the cars that passed the police officer directing traffic. In fact, the only night we had problems sleeping was the first, when there was a fireworks show in town that was no more than a mile away, and caused huge noise and vibrations while it was ongoing. Other than that we quickly adjusted to the noise and were fine sleeping.

I would and have reccomended this hotel to my closest and dearest friends. 2 thumbs up.
