My husband and I spent a wonderful, romantic weekend at Hotel Valencia. After 25 years of marriage, we renewed our wedding vows in their incredible courtyard in front of the flame lit waterfall! The hotel worked out every detail of this surprise with my husband in advance. The concierge staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a very special stay. We arrived early, so we expected to have to leave our luggage at the desk and come back later to check in. To our surprise, they said our room was ready. When we opened the door to our room, we were shocked! We had been upgraded to the top floor suite! It was the most beautiful room. The room is round in shape with windows nearly all the way around. The shutters can be closed for privacy, but no one could see in as we were 7 floors up! I felt like a princess when we opened the doors and looked down onto the Riverwalk! As far as the room, it was very romantic. It is rather dark, but that's part of the romance! The faux mink throw and dark woods are very rich and luxurious. The bed is very comfortable. There is a separate sitting area as well. The bathroom was very luxurious and clean. Excellent towels, toiletries and robes.
This hotel is pricy, but if you have a special occassion, they don't miss a beat. They had champagne chilling after our ceremony, helped arrange flowers and even the minister for our ceremony. My husband had sent our wedding picture to the hotel ahead of time, and when we walked into the courtyard, there was our original wedding picture on an easel near the fountain. When we returned to our room after the ceremony and dinner at Citrus, our bed was covered in rose petals, more chilled champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries!
We travel alot and I am pretty particular about staying in a nice hotel. This one ranks up there with the best! It was truly the weekend of a lifetime!
