I recently had a two night stay at the La Quinta Inn & Suites San Antonio Airport location. First off, the location is about 20 mins drive time to the river walk and about 30 mins to Sea World, Fiesta Texas. I really liked the location since it was close to several restaurants and there is a Wal-Mart about a 5 mins walk across a parking lot away. This hotel/motel is ideal for families on a budget, in fact on my stay that’s all I saw. The have a decent free breakfast in the mornings which include make your own waffle station (although 10 min line for that), cereal, yogurt, toast, fresh fruit and donuts juices coffee ECT...the rooms have a microwave, and a small fridge that’s empty so you will be able to fit alot of food /drinks in there if necessary. This is where the Wal-Mart location to the hotel comes in handy, very easy to stock up on snacks and drinks. The walls of the hotel seem to be paper thin, you can hear talking and walking in the halls, slamming of doors, peoples conversations in the next room if they speak above a whisper. Not good if you like to sleep in on mornings. The sheets, pillow cases, and most of the bed is as cheap as it can possibly be, they need to update their sheets,, they were thin and had a very cheap feel to them, im sure they were just old and need replacing. They do have a shuttle that will take up to 3 miles to a nearby restaurant if need be and an airport shuttle. They did have internet connection and in room movies and about 10.99 each, of course basic cable and HBO were free. They did have in room video game for a fee. There was not an in room safe anywhere to be found. The pool area was nice, small patio with a few chairs and tables with umbrellas and the pool was small but nice, they had a Jacuzzi area but full of kids as to be expected at this type of hotel. All and all this hotel best suited for families, easy access to all San Antonio areas , free parking, no crazy resort fees to be paid. Staff seemed to be a bit robotic in checking in but was sold out the weekend I stayed so im sure they had to repeat alot of info that day. They were pleasant the next time I had to ask for directions and gave me a map of the area which helped redeem themselves. The entrance to the hotel is a bit strange, located on a side road with only one entrance, a bit confusing the first time you get there but ok after you figure it out. This hotel not a bad deal for the money as long as your not looking for the over the top amenities.
