This hotel is in a pretty decent location-many of the business surrounding were closed down...but it is within walking distance of the riverwalk and 2 good Mexican restaurants. The facilities were pretty dated. The exercise room was in serious need of an update and the rooms were a little shabby. The pool and hot tub were nice. As usual, the courtyard charges for breakfast so stay at the fairfield next door if you want that. I would stay on the riverwalk next time if there is an affordable rate to avoid the walk through the homeless folks areas.

Looking for a great price and a nice hotel this is the one! Clean rooms, free parking, clean part of town, comfortable beds, pool and spa were very clean, great breakfast buffet and the trolley picks you up right out front. I couldn't have asked for better service from the front desk. They were very friendly and even changed on of our rooms to over look the pool. I would highly recommend this hotel for the price. I booked a room at $129 with a free breakfast (9.95 value). Other reviews recommending getting a room facing the pool/courtyard area becuase it's more quiet. I had a room facing the street and was never bothered. If you are a smoker the balcony's that don't face the courtyard are very small and don't even have chairs.

I stayed at this hotel on two separate occasions for a total of six days in May and had a decent stay. Check in was very easy and the desk staff was pleasant. The hotel is close to downtown and the riverwalk and also in close proximity to the nearest highway. I like Courtyard's for being a nice place to stay, but without the hassle of a valet service, bell service, etc. My only gripe with this hotel is the towels are a bit small and thin and they don't provide skin lotion in the rooms, so bring your own.

We spent three days and four nights at this hotel. I did quite a bit of research, checking reviews, talking to travel agent and this hotel was right on the money for what I was looking for. It was very clean and the staff extremly friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated. The mattress was very comfortable and I'm used to sleeping on a Sleep Number bed at home. The pillows were wonderful as well - four on each bed - two foam - two down. The bedding was very updated, clean and comforable. Upon check-in we did ask for a room facing the courtyard which was not a problem. The entire hotel is non-smoking which was a big plus for us. It was a little chilly to use the pool but it appeard to be very clean. We used the hot tub which was great - also very clean. We didn't eat at the hotel, so have no opinion on that - other than it was a small open dining area across from the check-in counter. The trolley (very friendly drivers) stopped just outside the hotel and would take you right into town or you could walk two to three blocks to the Market Square. We never rented a car the entire stay as the trolley got us everywhere we wanted to go and we didn't mind walking a couple of blocks or so. The River Walk is tremendous....with lots of great places to eat. We found the people of San Antonio very friendly and helpful and will definitely be going back and will definitely stay at this reasonably price hotel.
