“Would stay again”

Spent 2 nights Apr 27-29 in a studio suite. Free parking, breakfast, and internet. There is also free parking available at the Lindbergh Marta station (up to 24hrs) although we could have walked (about 20 minutes.) Only about 5 stops to downtown--quick and convenient. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle.

One night we cooked, one night we drove to the Lenox Square shopping/restaurant area--about 10 minutes away--and ate at California Pizza Kitchen. Closest Starbucks only a few blocks away. Morning breakfasts were adequate--bagels, muffins, cereal etc. Even the studio has full-size fridge/freezer, 2 ring-burner stove, toaster, dishwasher, coffee machine. No wine glasses but cutlery, crockery, and saucepan selection, plus extras: sieve, jug, and mixing bowls were adequate.

It was convenient for Atlanta and great value. One stairmaster, recumbent bike, and treadmill in fitness room although hotel offers passes to a nearby gym. We would stay there again without question.

“Decent for a few days of business travel”

TownePlace Suites Atlanta Buckhead

Liked: having a kitchen, high speed internet, place to workout, free parking. Target across the street for those inevitable things you forgot to bring (or decided didnt make sense in 2 oz sizes).

Not so much: driveway forces you to either make a difficult and possibly illegal left turn or go around the block, entry mechanism on nearest door to parking garage (which was also closest to my room) was broken so I had to lug my stuff around the parking lot and all around the hotel hallways. housekeeping likes to turn the A/C sensor down to 50 degrees in the dead of winter so you come home to a freezing room.

“Overall a Great Stay”

I can't say that this was a luxury experience but it was a great stay. The rooms were clean and what you might expect at an average hotel. The area felt safe and there was little traffic congestion.

I was in town for a conference at the GWCC (downtown) and looking for an affordable place to accomodate 3 adults. We chose the 2 bedroom suite. It suited our needs perfectly. I drove to the GWCC once and took the MARTA once. I'd recommend the MARTA.

The continental breakfast was good and complete with belgian walffles that you made yourself. The staff was very friendly and promply (and accurately) responded to requests for directions and places to eat. The bed was comfortable and the wireless internet access was extremely convenient.

In regards to any drawbacks... the living room area was smaller than I expected but was fine for our needs. The toilet tissue holder was broken and laying on the counter in the master bath. The was a funny oder in the living room when we arrived. I think the smell was coming from the A/C since it dissipated when the A/C was off.

In spite of those issues, I would definitely stay here again.

“A Great Extended Stay Hotel”

My family and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights while my husband was attending a conference in downtown Atlanta. First, let me say I was worried that there were no recent reviews on tripadvisor and the older reviews we're exactly great. However, we went with this hotel because we could get a large 2 bedroom/ 2 bath/kitchenette suite for a good price and we wouldn't have to stay directly in downtown Atlanta with all the traffic and parking problems.

Here are some good things I have to say about this hotel...

The hotel has a courtesy shuttle to the Marta station if you need it. The station is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel so my husband just walked some days.

Their website doesn't indicate it but they do have an above average continental breakfast ( cereals, juices, yogurts, bagels, waffles, some fruit, etc.)

Free High Speed internet in all rooms and in also in the lobby if you need to use their desktop.

Parking is a breeze. They have their own well-lit parking garage on their property.

A small workout room with a tread mill, bike, step machine.

Super clean rooms when we arrived and Excellent housekeeping throughout our stay! They even washed and put away our dishes while we were out one day which I didn't expect them to do.

Friendly, Friendly staff who always greeted us when we were coming or going which is a lot to be said in the Atlanta area where we have found people aren't always the nicest. ( I think it's because of all the traffic and conjestion that they constantly have to put up with :)

Now to be fair- the only few complaints I could make...

I wasn't too clear on the pool issue. The hotel seems to share a common area and parking with the Sleep Inn and my husband was told they own both hotels but it wasn't made clear if the outdoor pool was to be shared by both hotels? So if you're interested in staying where there is a pool you may want to call them first.

The beds are of typical hotel quality- not the worst but not the best. They would do well to upgrade the beds like most other Marriott hotels are doing these days.

So with all this said I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to be in the Buckhead area for a nice, comfortable stay.

“Bugs!”

There is nothing fancy about this property, but at least they don't charge extra for the cockroaches! The room was o.k., and suited my needs, but I had to kill two roaches! I did not report the problem to the front desk until checkout, simply because it was late at night, and what could they have done at that hour, anyway... The next time I am in town, I will probably fork out a little extra money to stay at a nicer, cleaner property.
