Hi to our fellow travellers,
My husband and I stayed at this Fairfield Inn for an extended stay during October and November 2005. Overall, our experience was okay, but there was one major problem that we wanted to share with others.
About two weeks before the end of our stay, we realized that a small wallet containing some US cash and Canadian cash was missing. This is the first time something like this has ever happened to us, which is saying a lot since my husband and I are experienced travellers. We've lived in Asia for a few years, travelled through North America, Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Canada...and we've never had anything lost or stolen before. So, we found it hard to believe that we had misplaced the wallet, especially since we knew we hadn't taken it from the room.
The management's response was not great. The previously friendly manager wasn't so friendly after we reported the incident. When we asked to make a report to the insurance company, he dragged his feet so that it took over a month to get any kind of response (which ended up being negative, anyway). The usually cordial staff at the front desk, except for one person, became defensive and weren't very concerned with our plight.
So, the hotel was clean, safe, and the complimentary breakfast is nice, but watch your valuables!!
