“good hotel”

Doubletree Hotel Atlanta / Buckhead

4 of 5 stars
Madison, WI
May 25, 2008

My mother and I stayed at the Doubletree hotel for two nights and two days. It was a nice experience. The hotel is about 30-40 minutes away from the Atlanta airport. The subway is close, but our friends who live at Atlanta dropped us off at the hotel. The desk staff was quite pleasant and they give a free cookie when you check in!

The room was well appointed and you can tell it has been recently remodeled. There was only one bed and it was about the size of a queen/full. The pillows were very soft and the bed was comfortable. There was a coffee machine which was quite clean and new. The bathroom was okay. They could have done a better job cleaning the toilet, but it was usable. They had neutrogena products: shampoo, conditioner, soap, and face wash. The towels were clean and actually smelled nice.

The hotel also had a fitness facility and a pool. Both were quite clean. As for food, there are a lot of places that are close by to eat it at. The breakfast was very good at the hotel and the staff was great.

“Love Doubletree!”

Doubletree Hotel Atlanta / Buckhead

May 21, 2008

My husband and I have stayed in this hotel 3 times by using Priceline name your own price and have got it for $50 each time. The hotel is very nice and clean and bed is so so comfortable! If you go ahead and park your vehicle in the parking located right past the hotel on the right then you pay $9 for parking instead of the $15 ($20 for valet) the hotel charges you if you tell them you need parking. Just a tip! They give you fresh hot cookies when you arrive and the front desk is always friendly. The location is wonderful! Hope to stay here again!

“Overall, satisfied with the Buckhead Doubletree”

Doubletree Hotel Atlanta / Buckhead

I have to say for the price I recieved in this hotel, I can not complain too much. I booked the room for two nights on priceline.com for $49 per night. I was dissapointed to read that parking was twenty dollars a day, becasue I could have probably recieved a better hotel on priceline for $69 a night that included parking. However, the location in buckhead is very nice..near everything, and everyone is very friendly. They give you as many free warm cookies as you would like. The complimentary shuttle was very convenient and nice. I did find a very nearby parking garage and made off with being charged only $22 for the two days, so it was not too bad. The rooms are very nice , and the beds are amazing ! We did have one problem though, that would possibly keep us from coming back and that is the noise problem. We initialy started out with a room on the backside. Well, our lovely view was a huge parking deck in the process of being built, and workers worked in it til 10 pm..not too big of a deal, what made me mad was the next morning being woken up much earlier than I'd like to banging and beeping from trucks , it was very loud. My boyfriend, who is a heavy sleeper couldnt even sleep. So we asked to be moved, they could not move us til later in the afternoon. So we were moved to a room on the other side of the hall. This room was on the 4th floor, but above the entry of the hotel..You could hear EVERYTHING ! doors shutting, people whistling down at the entry of the hotel, people in the hallways. I had to get up every now and then to keep the fan noise going so we could sleep. This hotel has probbaly some of the worse insulation EVER ! I would have given this hotel 5 stars for what I paid for it, but the noise and parking cost brought it down two starts, the noise really was terrible. We might go back again though, because it was a good deal for the price and a very nice and friendly hotel in a good location.

“Great Location”

This hotel is lovely and in a great location. Easy access from the freeway. The thing is you cannot see the hotel from the road, as it is hidden behind taller buildings on all sides, so finding it is a challenge. The valet parking is well worth choosing. Loads of restuarants and shopping within walking distance of the hotel, including Phipps and Lenox. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The bed and pillows were comfortable. I did think they were a bit stingy on the towels, they never left even one extra towel and I had to call down each day for extra. This may have been due to the water shortage, however. As is typical of this chain, they charge extra for everything--water, breakfast, parking, etc. unless you are a member of their Honors club. You will get some free extras if you join the club before arriving. Breakfast choices were very ordinary. I suggest you drive 1 mile down Piedmont St. to the Buckhead Bread Company. The staff was super and very helpful with directions and recommendations. I would be happy to stay here again.

I just returned from the Doubletree Hotel In Atlanta, GA. I did not book a reservation, so I was hoping there was some availability. They not only had rooms, but were very fast and helpful during the check in. There's a great restaurant on the lobby, with lovely people taking care of you. The rooms are nice and comfy, wonderful beds, clean restrooms. Overall, you'll love the hotel just because of the staff. And their free hot yummy cookie helps :)
