My boyfriend and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn from 5/31/08 - 6/2/08. It wasn't spectacular, but it was comfortable. The important aspects of any trip were covered (i.e. safety, comfort, friendly staff, clean rooms/bathrooms, good location).

I felt safe the whole time and was never concerned about coming in late (we made it back to the hotel around 3am every night after going to parties).

The walls were a little thin but I only heard the other guests for a brief moment in the middle of the day so they weren't a problem. Main attraction... FREE PARKING!

Fairly close to a number of restaurants (about 5-6 blocks) but we didn't walk anywhere because it was too hot.

We would stay here again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the stay. By far the best value for the money. Recently remodeled, it was as nice as the last time I stayed at the Westin Peachtree, but much friendlier staff and no hands out for tips. I got in early enough to park in front of the hotel so my car was safe and there was no additional parking fee (unlike other hotels in the area). Great location, right by everything at Peachtree plaza. It was better than the Westin at 1/3 the cost. I paid well under $100 for a downtown ATL stay. I will definately continue to use them in the future.

The Red Roof was fine. I stayed there with a friend for one night in November for a concert that we had come to town for. The room had been recently renovated and was quite nice. The bathroom was very clean and overall I felt the room itself was clean as well.

Really, for a hotel in the center of downtown (only a 5 -10 minute walk to Peachtree Station Metro) for under $150, you can't beat the Red Roof. Ask for a room away from the elevators, though.

Front desk was slow as molasses, but not rude or unfriendly.

Now I understand why some reviewers downgrade a property due to service-related issues. This Red Roof Inn seems to have a recurring problem with lost reservations. Both the desk clerk and daytime manager couldn't find mine. I had to rummage through my luggage to find a printed confirmation. No apologies, no concern, not even a room that was ready. But I pressed the issue of my dissatisfaction, and now all of a sudden they have a room for me. An off-putting combination of incompetence, laziness and untruthfullness.

I have to admit the hotel was in a prime downtown location near the Hilton and Hyatt. The rooms have been redecorated recently, so the room itself is comfortable and clean. Parking is free. If you're driving in, there is a temporary sign with RED ROOF INN in small red letters painted onto a banner, which is easy to miss.
