Great place tacked away in the middle of Atlanta. The restaurant is actually an old charming home with a terrace morphed into a restaurant. The food is excellent, the service is prompt and friendly. many people are dressed-up, however, a lot of others are more casual. The parking is not a real problem, just park down the road and walk a couple of minute and you should be fine. I had the lamb and my wife the chicken, both excellent. Highly recommended!!!

I went to Anis last night with 3 friends; we are all in our early 20s. The atmosphere is lovely - the front patio is beautiful. We were seated promptly, no problem. Then the problems started.

We weren't given menus when we sat down, and only 3 of use were given water. We asked repeatedly for menus; we were told that the restaurant had run out, but we were sitting right next to the host table and watched him pass 6 or 7 menus off to other tables. It took 30 minutes for us to get ONE menu and wine list. We tried to flag down any waitress we could find in this time, but even when we made eye contact and waved, they just turned and walked away. It was as if we were invisible - we were totally ignored for half an hour. Finally, after 40 minutes, a different waitress came out of nowhere and took our order.

The wine list is great and the waitress brought my glass promptly, but they forgot about the bottle my friends ordered until after we had finished our appetizers - we had to remind them to bring it. I had to ask two different people for a glass so I could taste it.

The food was excellent, but the timing was off - they didn't bring appropriate silverware or fill our water glasses until after we had gotten our food, etc.

We did end up getting our wine for free, but it really didn't make up for the awful service. We watched the staff breeze by us time after time to attend to other tables that were seated after us. We have a sinking feeling that this was because of our ages - we were the youngest party in the restaurant.

So, in conclusion, the atmosphere is cozy and romantic and the food and wine are wonderful, but if you're not a distinguished-looking Buckhead resident decked out in designer clothes, expect terrible service.

Service just ok, food - some good, some bad. Skate was cooked well, but the sauce was lousy, would never order it there again. Calamari was excellent, pasta dish was very good. I'll try Anis just one more time. After dinner we told the waiter we wanted a few minutes to decide on whether we wanted dessert, he came back in 5 minutes with the bill. We sat for 20 minutes talking, he never once came back. At other more considerate restaurants if you sit for a few minutes after paying the bill they'll come back and refresh your water or coffee. We were ignored, they were not closing, they were not busy.

Our friends took us to this restaurant during our stay in Atlanta last week. We had a nice meal. The food is rather tasty. However, the coffee is horrible. You would think a French restaurant would have wonderful coffee. Please Anis read this and take a hint. We also told you it was horrible. Also, their selection of teas were horrible as well. If you go, drink coffee some place else after your meal.
