Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center

We stayed at the GA Tech Hotel and Conference Center on the weekend of 11/17 - 11/19. That was the weekend of the Tech/Duke football game, and we had plans to go to the game and to attend the James Taylor concert at the Fox Theater on Sat. night. My husband is a Tech alumnus, but we had never stayed at the hotel before. We were so pleasantly surprised! All we really hoped for was a decent place to stay that was close to everything. What we got was a perfect weekend! The hotel is contemporary and beautiful. Our room included the breakfast buffet both mornings, which was nothing short of delicious and fantastic. We were so close to the stadium and to the Fox. We walked everywhere -- cab not necessary. It was great! The people were very attentive, and our room was spotless and spacious. Beds were also very comfortable, with duvet style comforters on a cold, cold night. The bathroom was obviously re-done with modern decor & luxuries which included a large, tiled shower. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Atlanta area. It was a GREAT deal for what we got. We live about 30 miles outside of Atlanta, and sometimes it's just nice to stay downtown for events instead of making the drive home. We now know that we will always stay at the Georgia Tech Conference Center.

Thaddeus (sp?) at the front desk was exceptionally wonderful. My last stay at GT Conference Center was in August, but had also stayed there in July 06. Both times the staff was extremely helpful, giving us coupons for an appetizer at a local spot within walking distance. The rooms and grounds were very well kept and comfortable. All in all, I had a great stay here and would recommend it to anyone needing a place to stay in Midtown Atlanta.

“Nice spot, but no one there can give directions how to get there!”

We were invited to a wedding in Atlanta and this hotel was across the street from where the reception was. We flew into Atlanta airport and thought we would give local train into city a try. Was about $ 4 for the two of us. Before we got on train, we called hotel to find out what stop they were. After lenghty discussion with someone, they told us directions ( which were wrong, close, but still wrong). So as we bought tickets we asked the agent. We were given different directions, so decieded to see what happened. Got on train, was busy. We had a lot of trouble seeing what station we were at at each stop. There is not a big sign..finally we see stop hotel suggested. Came out to street and called hotel again just to get us going the right directions since it was rainy. Same girl gave us again wrong directions away from hotel. Called again and she insisted she was right, but we were still lost. I saw a homeless fellow and he was happy to help and we had a nice visit as he led us to hotel.
So he got a dinner and we finally could check in. That went fine. We had a nice room, extremely comfy bed. Nice big bathroom. All very clean. We ordered some room service since we had been traveling all day and were starving. The food we ordered came in a reasonable time and was hot and good.

our experience here was very positive. this hotel was within a couple blocks walk to several resturants/bars, georgia tech's campus, as well as the north ave marta station. a decent business center and a nice sized fitness room and pool are all on site and the breakfast buffett was reasonable. if you're a sports fan you'll be interested to know that some visiting teams playing georgia tech and the atlanta falcons stay there the night b4 home games.

“Enjoyed my stay at the Georgia Tech Hotel”

Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center

I have stayed at the Georgia Tech hotel twice. The first time was in July 2006, the second time was October 2006. I enjoyed my stay both times. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the hotel is adjacent to the Tech campus. It is perfect if you are attending an event at the college.
