This hotel claims to be top notch and the staff certainly tries very hard to make your stay as perfect as they can but there are some shortfalls. One, this hotel is in the midst of a "makeover". Problem is I couldn't tell if my room had been "made over" yet or not! Sloppy painting on the outside of my room door and see my issues below for more. The pluses - Sleep kit on your pillow w/ lavender spray, mask, sleep CD and a nifty CD/radio player by the bed. Lots of personal toiletry freebees and great quality too! The staff also gave us a free drink coupon at check in and a free movie coupon too (had to ask for that one). Finally I found a gym that offers free weights, a weight machine, eclipicals and treadmills. And FREE water in the gym - you pay $1 for an 8 oz bottle in the machine at the end of your floor. When did bottled water get more expensive than soda!!! Very nice restuarant with really decent food and fresh fish. Now for the negatives - no internet connections in the rooms or desk work space so the hotel isn't for the active business person. The screws on the towel rack in the bathroom were pulled out of the wall and so was the cap on the shower head to the wall. No biggies and didn't affect the performance of anything but still! My biggest peve was the hotel's ignorance to some issues reagarding what they consider so important - SLEEP. It starts with your room card promoting their committment to getting a good nite's sleep and the sleep kit is a very nice touch. They have luxury comforters on the beds and between nice crisp sheets - another very nice touch. But the comforters are soo heavy you can't roll over in bed - It's exhausting! If they want to do "Luxury" how about a lighter down comforter instead. Another peve is the TV remote - it doesn't have a sleep timer on it to shut off automatically should you fall asleep with the TV on. And the air conditioner is very loud when on (a/c or fan) so they should consider putting ear plugs in their sleep kit too. My last peve is the sleep CD and player. It's great in concept but the CD player doesn't have an automatic shut off and there is alot of talking at the beginning of the CD so when you do fall asleep, you are awakened by the CD starting over again and again with the irratating talking. All in all I like the place for the price I paid thru Priceline - $79, but would never stay there if I had to pay the full price.
