Though I have stayed at MANY different hotels in several different countries I've never stayed at a W Hotel. I had high expectations of a hotel of this caliber. I was quite disappointed in the room. While it was a great size, and included a full kitchen, it was very sparse in decor. Such large rooms should be a bit more decorated. I was very disappointed that a small bistro style table in the bedroom was made of metal, but had plastic chairs....like the ones you have outside, but a bit more classy. It was like they mixed two different sets together.

I was impressed with the lobby. It was very Chic and had music playing softly all day----not techo music as one person said, but more of a up beat jazzy style. I liked the fact that each day all the pillows on the couches were changed (there were multiple seating areas to sit and conversate)

The shampoos etc in the shower were half empty....leading me to believe housekeeping did a less than thorough inspection/cleaning of the room. The bed slept wonderfully!

The evening before we checked out we received a bill under the door for something purchased from the room...I don't know what they charged us for, but it cost $24.00 (a small box of jellybeans was $7.00). I don't know what they were charging us for because we didn't use anything. Again, housekeeping must not have been very thorough. The young lady at the desk promptly removed it from our bill.

To that end, I'd say though the hotel was nice, I think I'd rather spend my money at a different hotel.....because while the lobby was nice, the room was just a big basic hotel room. Given that most of your time is spent in the room, that's were you should get your moneys worth.

The suite was lovely with a balcony and good view. We went on Memorial weekend to hang out by the pool and were disappointed to find they only had 7 pool chairs. On Sunday morning we went to the pool and discovered it was closed for a private party.

This hotel is a big disappointment. To start with, the lobby is a loud bar with techno music blaring at all hours. It appears to be a pick-up joint for singles which made us uncomfortable. The rooms were a nightmare. Had to change rooms twice because of the mold/mildew smell coming from air conditioning vent. Only redeeming quality was a comfortable bed and nice TV. Brown carpet on floor was so dirty that I wouldn't walk on it without shoes. Needless to say, we checked out after 2 nights and went else where. Lost money, but didn't care. Not a place to stay for vacation, get away, or business. In addition, too many hotels in area offer free parking. At this W it costs $15 a day for valet and $10 a day to park in an open lot. And lets not forget the $10 for a bottle of water that Target sells for $2. Staff tries, but are rather arrogant. I've stayed in nicer hotels off of Interstate Highways.

As a Starwood VIP, I have seen the best and worst of Starwood and have had the chance to stay at that properities all over the globe.

I love the W hotels, BUT I must say that the W-Perimeter is not what I would call a typical W hotel.

Pros: The Lobby - full of life

Cons: Room - I was in a suite but it felt old and the bathroom needed an upgrade. The fitness center - lackluster.
