Good staff, great lobby area with a decent singer Friday night in the lounge. Furniture in room rickety and dated but carpet was ok, no bad smell,bed very comfortable, bathroom small but nice two-head shower. Requested and got a high floor facing south...great view. Had dinner across the street at Pittypat' s Porch and it was pitty-ful. Will definitely try this hotel agaion

Its a huge impersonal hotel, which seems to be understaffed judging by how long it takes to check in / get any room service etc.

Usual Westin refinements apply - great beds nice desk working area and so on - but the whole thing feels tired and needs some attention.

Not one of their best...

This hotel used to be a great place to stay. It is very convenient to Americasmart convention which is the reason I come to Atlanta several times a year. Well, each time I come this place gets worse and worse and last week was the straw that broke the camels back.

I had many problems last July there like the sink was cracked open, the air unit was leaking all over the floor and hadn't been clean in a year from the look of the filter which I think is why I had a head cold the entire trip, and the valet couldn't find my keys one night and I had to go in and find them and twice they brought out another person's car. It was the same car both times they tried to give me!! A black Jaguar. Maybe I should have taken it for a spin. I'm sure the owner would be thrilled to know they tried giving me his jag twice!

Well, last week I returned with assurance from the manager that things would be much better than in July. HA! Wishful thinking. The first night they had left some scaffling hanging outside the window and the cables kept slapping the building every 2 seconds the entire night causing us to not get any sleep. I spoke to the manager about this and was told he would get back to me as to what he could do for us.

Well, the third night was the kicker. A storm came thru causing the scaffling to get loose and the cables came grinding across our windows and continued grinding across them the entire night. I immediately called down front and was told I had two options. Option 1: They would give us EAR PLUGS AT NO CHARGE! Option 2: Move us to a Parlor Suite which is a small meeting room with NO BEDS. Can you believe that?? I hotel costing over $200 a night and that's their only options??? I went down to the lobby where I found a crowd of angry customers surrounding the manager and heard excuse after excuse given. This scaffling that was causing all the problems were from guys putting up a banner on the building for a NHL game coming soon. Well, that was all it took for me and that place. Not only were these problems there, the room was horrible looking. Furniture torned, nighttable was falling apart and the carpet looked disgusting.

I made reservations at a new hotel down the road that night for my next trip to Atlanta and it is a huge apartment with a full kitchen, living room with flat screen tv, private balcony, a nice bedroom with another flat screen tv and a bathroom with a walk in shower for the same price as the Westin AND it came with FREE aquarium tickets each night and FREE valet parking!!! CYA WESTIN!! I would rather walk a couple of blocks to Americasmart then stay in that hell hole you call a 4 star hotel!

In my continuing saga of US hotel ratings I had an opportunity to stay here with my wife. The hotel lobby and staff were awesome. The Room was above average but not as nice as the intercontinental in Buckhead. This was during thanksgiving and I purchased a large King room for $150.00 per night. The bed was great the bathroom was nice and the view was second to none. My only criticism was the carpet needed to be replaced. Great old building. Give it a shot
