ServiceWe stayed here this last weekend and found the hotel an excellent place for family and friends of a bride and groom. Hotel is very convenient to a number of restaurants, easy on/off of I-80, and very quiet. The rooms are really good sized and feature two sinks.( !!) The $85 rate for two( maybe this is only good for weddings?), including breakfast, seemed like a bargain . Desk staff were very helpful, making sure we had some yogurts to take with us for breakfast the night before we left at 6am for the airport, and also giving us restaurant recommendations. Omlets were available on the Friday am we were there, but not on Saturday. ( Think they probably cater to the many business folk we observed there) Both mornings there was fresh fruit on the buffet. The Atrium area is a really nice place for extended family and friends to gather and the plants are all real and healthy, too.The room was 80's vintage, but the bed seemed new with good pillows. Only complaints are that the room was not cleaned until 430pm on Saturday;( we opted for fresh towels as we were getting dressed) and the pool was closed that day for some reason. Don't know that we would stay here again, but we found Omaha to be absolutely delightful - great museums, excellent restaurants, and a fun Farmers' Market in the Old Market area.

ServiceWhen checking in, we were asked if we had a floor or location request, so we were able to get a room on a higher floor and just off of the main atrium area...it was very quiet. The front desk staff were great, offering directions to the zoo and Old Market and making recommendations for dining. The atrium is a beautiful place to relax and the pool was beautiful, with a amall waterfall. The hot tub was nice, too.
The renovations outside were only an inconvenience when they started early the morning after arrival when we were hoping to sleep in. It was very loud. We wished they would have mentioned on their website that they were undergoing renovation. Because of the construction, the deck was not usable, but it was too cold, anyway.
The room decor was slightly outdated, especially the bathrooms, but they were clean and the bed was comfy, so that's all that really mattered.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel, especially to families, the 2-room suite was very roomy.

ServiceStayed in May 2005. Hotel exterior undergoing major work -- scaffolding surrounds much of exterior. I checked in after the repair work was done for the day and left before it resumed the following day, so I cannot comment on the noise factor. However, the main entrance had a sign advising guests to beware of significant sawdust that might land on them upon exiting hotel.
Interior of rooms is in need of updating as well. Things were generally clean, but just dated (mid to late 80's vintage cabinets, tile, etc.).
Property was formerly an Embassy Suites and I am guessing that the ownership did not want to spend the $$ to keep up with Embassy's requirements, so they traded down to a Doubletree flag. The hotel looks like a typical Embassy Suites (open atrium, two-room suites, etc.).
Buffet breakfast (around $10) was not up to the Embassy or Marriott Courtyard standards. High speed internet is extra charge of around $12/day.
Nothing terribly wrong with the hotel, just a bit long in the tooth.
