“Nice, but nothing special”

Hilton New Orleans Riverside

Jul 7, 2008

I recently stayed at the Hilton Riverside during a girls weekend get away for my birthday.

The staff was friendly (there was one female bartender at the lobby bar that was awesome) and the location was great. It was just blocks away from the French Quarter and just across the street from the Harrah's casino.

However, the rooms were a little tired. The carpet was pulled up and frayed between the wet bar area and bathroom. The bed linens looked a little dated and the TV was old (aren't flat screens standard almost everywhere now ?). The AC unit in our room was leaking onto the floor and soaked the nearby carpet. We alerted housekeeping to fix the problem, but it was still leaking the next day.

Overall, not bad. Just in need of a little updating.

Nice hotel but they charge for everything -- $1 a bag for the bellhop...$13 to use the gym...$12 for internet access. Makes me crazy to pay Hilton rates and then have to pay for the gym! We also stayed at the hilton by the airport...just as nice...and not so many extra fees

“unsafe place”

Hilton New Orleans Riverside

I attended a conference in new orleans and had arranged for a late night arrival. Upon arrival in 9:00 p.m., the Hilton had sold my room, along with over 20 other people. We were farmed out to other hotels.

I left my camera in the room and it disappeared during the time I was at the conference. The HIlton has refused to reimburse me, even through there was only one entry into the room, other than myself , and that was housekeeping. In fact they have even suggested that I really did not leave the camera there!!!! They have made no effort to even compensate me in some other form, such as a free night, etc. What a place!!!!

Take my advice, find another hotel to stay at and there are many others in the same area.

“Great stay at the HIlton Riverside”

We stayed at the Hilton Riverside, in New Orleans, for a conference in 2006. It was very nice, and the staff was great, very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and spacious. There was a wonderful roof top Executive Lounge for guests staying on the 29th floor and up, where they served a lovely complimentary continental breakfast, and then cocktails and hors d'oeuvres in the evening, all with a stunning view of the city. There was direct access into the Riverwalk Mall for shopping too. We were there with the National Association of Realtors convention in 2006. They Hilton has a great location with in a few blocks to the French Quarter, and a couple blocks to the Convention Center. We would definately stay again.

“Unbelievable PRICELINE rate at the Hilton Riverside”

Was staying in NO for three days for a conference and was hoping to get a bargain near the French Quarter. I got more than I bargained for with the Hilton Riverside. My room was very spacious and clean.. I think it was one of the newly remodeled ones. After reading the reviews on this site.. when I checked in asked if I was going to have a "remodeled" room and the clerk informed me that my room was "all set" and was a dbl. I would have preferred a single but she informed me that it would be near the pool and on a lower floor.. so I opted to keep what was reserved.

Well for 65.00US per night I was totally satisfied!.. and I would stay there again if I can get that rate.

I could have saved even more money if I parked at the garage down the street for $10. per day i/o $30. with no in and out.. but I didn't drive while I was there anyway.

If you're on an expense account.. stay there. If you're trying to save a buck.. use priceline and hope you get the Hilton.
