I love this hotel. I feel that it has the BEST location. I have stayed in several other (more expensive) French Quarter properties, but have opted our last few trips to stay at the Hotel Provincial. The concierge is fantastic and helpful, not to mention, he has been there forever... I enjoy seeing a familiar face, who always recognizes us and makes us feel welcome. I love the quaint hotel bar, where my husband and I like to hang out and people watch. I love the convenience of Hotel Provincial most of all.. Close to the Cafe du Monde, The French Market, and Jackson Square.
Some of the rooms are small, but very clean and nice. (We don't spend much time in our room, except to sleep anyway!) We always enjoy the fabulous courtyards and pool. True New Orleans charm!! A great hotel! I have always been very happy with this choice, we always recommend and always return....

Although the Hotel Provincial takes up almost an entire city block the seperate buildings, intimate courtyards with fountains and two quite private small pools surrounded by tropical folliage make you feel like you're in you have stepped into another time.
It is very relaxing after a few hours of hard shopping in the French Quarter.

The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. The antique furnishings made you feel as if you were a guest in someone's home. The staff was over the top and there is valet parking.
Two excellent restaurants make Breakfast, lunch and fine dining just steps away. We slept quite well although a little noise in the mornings is unavoidable.
What more could you ask for a weekend getaway.
It was just what we needed!
The French Quarter is like you've never seen it.
Not crowded yet, even on the weekend, most everything is open and just waiting for our business. All the negativity you see on the news does NOT apply in the Quarter.

My husband and I stayed here for our 15th anniversary. The hotel was comfortable and very clean. We loved having an airconditioned room to come back to every so often to get away from the heat. (The swimming pool was great too) The hotel is old and that gives it so much charm. We stayed in room 222, it was very quiet and we loved hearing the carriages go by!

We had a couple different friends recommend this hotel to us. We were very glad they did! We had a great vacation!

I've stayed at the Provincial many times over the course of 15+ years. My recent stay, June 18-20, found the hotel to be in good operating condition. I had first booked a room at one of the large corporate chains, mainly because they offer high speed Internet connections. As time drew closer to my date of departure, I decided to support a local business. The staff at Provincial was pleasant and accommodating. My room was cleaned every day. I had a deluxe room which appeared to have been freshly paintied. The door of my room opened onto a lovely courtyard. As one reviewer noted, there is no in-room/lobby coffee service. However, Stanley, the restaurant accessable through the townhouses, is open for breakfast and lunch. Stanley makes a good cup of dark, New Orleans coffee. I recommend the Provincial as a Quarter location. Given the circumstances, I'm tempted to give the hotel and "excellent" rating. Very good is a more applicable rating.
