First, our room was right by the second floor bar, and we had loud dance music blaring all night, plus drunk people trying to hook up right outside our door. We called security, but no avail. We were up every two hours both nights asking people to please go elsewhere. It was like staying outside a very loud brothel. Next, parking was $30 a night, something the hotel does not tell you until you are there with no choice. Even the Marriott only charges $10 a night for valet. Next, the $16 a head buffet breakfast (biscuits and fruit) was worth maybe $8 in New Orleans, and we were disappointed, when the table next to us was informed that waffles, omelets, pancakes, and French toast were also available with the buffet. When we asked our server, she said, "Oh, yeah, well, I'm busy, I gotta do room service, too, and I didn't want to bother with you." It really set a terrible tone to our day. Finally, we were double charged for our room (charged twice the rate we were quoted, and I confirmed that rate when I checked in). When I asked the desk, I was told, "Well, honey, we got your credit card number. Your only choice is do you want this credit card charged, or do you want to give me another one?" I tried to talk to the manager, I tried everything, but I had been taken. Honestly, I go to New Orleans a lot, and I would recommend one of the well known hotels on Canal or a B&B in the Marigny. This hotel has a great location, but it is a pit of thieves.
